Explanation DECIBEL: A dimensionless unit for expressing the ratio of two quantities, abbreviated as dB. The decibel difference between two power levels is equal to 10 times the common logarithm of their ratio. The decibel difference between two voltage levels is equal to 20 times the common logarithm of their ratio. Decibel values are typically associated with a standard voltage or power level.
