LOGGER title: logger (EP-PIN) (SAP Library - Glossary)
LOGGER category: Portal Infrastructure (EP-PIN)
LOGGER explained:
Virtual entity used to control how messages generated by a Java package in the mySAP Enterprise Portal are logged.
Packages are assigned to a logger. In turn, one or more logger classes can be assigned to each logger and each logger class writes to a different log file.
Example: You have a Java package for an iView to create roles and you want all messages generated by the package to be written to a log file in text format. In addition you want all severe error messages to appear on the screen. To allow this you would assign the package to a logger that has two logger classes assigned to it. One of these logger classes writes text messages to a file. The second writes text messages to the screen.
