PRECEDING BATCH explained:
Batch that the current batch was produced from, and which comes directly before the it in the production process.
Example
A bale of fabric is dyed in a production process.
The bale of fabric has the batch number ST-01, the dyed fabric ST-BLUE-01. ST-01 is therefore the preceding batch of ST-BLUE-01.
