A suite of functions in SAP APO that are used to control the replacement of one product by another. There are basically two cases:
DiscontinuationThis is the case when one product is replaced by another for technical or cost reasons. The process is sometimes referred to as supersession.
Form-Fit-Function ClassesThis is the case when several products that have the same form, fit and function can be be interchanged.
