RELATIONSHIP TYPE (PM) explained:
A key for an object link that indicates the direction in which the medium between two linked objects is transferred.
You can distinguish between relationship types that are possible in principle and those used in practice.
Example
Pumps A and B are linked by a pipe. Because you can pump both from A to B and from B to A, the relationship type possible is "two-way." In practice you only pump from A to B, so the relationship type used is "one-way."
