TEMPLATE CATEGORY explained:
A means of grouping together all of the attributes available for describing templates of a particular category. A template category contains all of the attributes that can be assigned to each template version. The attributes shipped by SAP are assigned to one or more template categories. All template categories are predefined by SAP, and are used to classify templates.
You can assign a template to only one of the following template categories:
