R3UP explained:
The central coordination program that controls the entire SAP System upgrade.
The program controls the upgrade in sequential phases. R3up starts the tools R3load, tp and R3trans, and uses RFC to communicate with the SAP System. It recognizes any errors that occur during the upgrade, and writes them to a log file. You can only upgrade the system with R3up if the required PREPARE modules have been completed successfully.
