The information class that provides specific information about a report in the SAP system. A report can display information about several objects, such as a particular customer, vendor, or document. The information is presented in the form of a list, and includes any necessary navigation, sorting, or summation functions.

As a rule, reports do not change the database. However, this does not apply to reports that display data in a list format with a follow-on function to modify data. Using follow-on functions, you can modify existing data, for example, in a worklist.

The general report tree is the central report catalog in which the user can search for, and call up, reports. To open the general report tree, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Information Systems -> General Report Selection.

Note that SAP Business Warehouse is an integrated solution for reporting. In SAP Business Warehouse, a report is called a "query." There is a separate "Query" information class for query documentation.
