The IP can be exchanged subsequently in an IPM contract item that has already been billed (and for which payment may already have been made). This leads to automatic transfer postings in FI etc.
A distinction should be made between the following here:
Is the new IP to be valid retroactively, or is it first to be valid from a specific point in time?
